On January 22, 1943 the New York Daily Mirror published a short article on Duke Ellington, the night before his Carnegie Hall debut! The concert featured the premier of "Black, Brown, and Beige," and such soloists as Johnny Hodges, Tricky Sam Nanton, and Ray Nance! Truly a piece of jazz history!
